Near the Relais Modern in Florence there are plenty of business attractions which, as often happens in this magnificent art city, are mixed with an intriguing historical and architectural component, as is the case with the Fortezza da Basso. One of the most important Florentine Medici monuments, this imposing fortress was designed in the 1500s on behalf of Alessandro de' Medici and has a large area for meetings and conventions. Santa Maria Novella is one of Florence's major churches. A few steps away you will find the train station with the same name, from which you can easily get to the Relais Modern on foot or by bus. A short distance from the Relais Modern, you will also find the old Dominican convent which houses the San Marco Museum, the Archaeological Museum that contains important Roman and Etruscan artifacts. The Fiorentino Hospital and the Istituto degli Innocenti are not too far away.
